Poems praised the achievements of a great chieftain or the adventures of admired heroes.
On special occasions, poems and songs were performed by bards, the singers at that time.
The following movie soundtrack is from King Arthur film (2004). The song describes a journey through the mountains. It is an ode to homeland which evokes nostalgic and hopful feelings. It is based in an old Nordic poem Song of the Exile.

  1. Hello, this is such an interesting a motivating theme to work many angles of ESL within the classroom. I would have loved this when I was a student. On this particular post I have a few thoughts:
    - Songs are catchy and motivating for language learning. The song you chose uses repitition, which is easy to learn and understand.
    - Creating an ending to a story improves creativity and reading comprehension. This could be shared within the classroom, which will improve speaking skills and spark discussion, creating a environment for natural speech.
    Thanks for sharing!
